The least expensive and most convenient way to reach the Similans is from one of
the guesthouses at Khao Lak, 30 km south of Takua Pa, 12 km north of Thap
Lamu, 30 km north of Thai Muang, or 110 km north of Phuket. Take any bus heading
along the coast and get off at the guesthouse of your choice; most are
signposted with large wooden billboards. Otherwise, take a motorcycle taxi from
Thap Lamu for B30.
